DAR 7 resolves 1,126 agrarian cases
MORE than 1,000 farmers and their families heaved a sigh of relief as the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Central Visayas resolved 1,126 agrarian legal cases in the last six months.
DAR 7 Director Luis B. Bueno Jr. reported this accomplishment during the department’s performance review and planning session held in Tagaytay City on July 24.
Bueno said that of the 922 agrarian legal cases targeted to be solved for the first semester of 2018, DAR has resolved a total 1,126, surpassing its target.
“Most of these cases have been dragging on for years. With the directive of Secretary John Castriciones to streamline legal procedures, we have fast-tracked our legal procedures. We will do our best to help farmers fight for their rights and welfare,” the regional director said.
The four-day DAR’s performance review and planning session held last July 24 to 27 aims to resolve and address problems in implementing agrarian reform.
