Bad weather hampers clearing ops in Boljoon

THE Boljoon Municipal Government is racing against time and the weather to immediately clear debris that blocked a major river system there. Eutemio Ternate, Boljoon’s local disaster officer, said that with more rains expected in Cebu this week, they fear that the artificial dam that blocked the Lusapon River could overflow, and this might cause a massive flash flood and affect households living on the riverside. However, in the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) in Camp Sotero Cabahug on Gorordo Ave., it is not only the arrested persons that police have faced or “felt” in their camp. A MAN who helped locate alleged gunman Jessie Largo claimed that operatives of the Talisay City Police Station gave them only a portion of the P200,000 reward given by the City Government. In a TV Patrol Central Visayas report yesterday, Elias (not his real name) claimed that city police chief Supt. Sirao seeks tax fees from biz owners

TO generate revenues, Barangay Sirao in Cebu City wants to collect local taxes from all businesses operating in its jurisdiction.
