Cebu cop found dead in own home

AN ACTIVE police officer died in a possible suicide inside his home in Sudlon, Barangay Lahug, Cebu City, around 3 a.m. Thursday, August 24. Cebu City Police Office (CCPO)-Homicide Section investigators found the officer in his room. Investigators are not ruling out the possibility that the gunshot wound in the chest of Senior Police Officer 2 Victor Ayuman was caused by an accidental firing. TWO wounded police officers and 21 others, including police units, in Central Visayas Region were awarded by Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa on Wednesday, August 23. It was done during the Police Regional Office’s (PRO) celebration of the 116th Police Service anniversary. Dela Rosa visited Police Officer 1 (PO1) Dennis Valiente at the Sacred Heart Hospital to award the wounded policeman with a Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting.
